Now that we are getting to the end of summer, it is not too late to make sure you have indulged in your favorite outside childhood games.

One of our family favorites is Hot Lava Monster.  The equipment you need for this game is a jungle gym located at your local park or school yard.

The brilliant part of this game is that the parent is “The Hot Lava Monster” and at the center of the fun.  The object is to catch all of the other people playing the game.   Usually these people are your children and a bunch of their giggling friends moving quickly around all the parts of the jungle gym.

The interesting part of this game is that when a child is tagged, they must join the monster in tagging the rest of the players.  The winner is the last one tagged.

My children are now grown and they remember playing this game.   Have fun and go make some memories with your children.
